Here’s another video today for you where I go into some of the fitness exercises that you can do to get fitter and stronger to help you with your tennis.
If you watch the top pros, you wll see that their fitness level is often the main factor that separates them from the rest of the pack.
I know I say “like” a lot in this video, but I just happened to get really excited trying to explaining what I saw in Nadal several years ago at the Canadian Open. I want you to play great tennis and have so much fun on the court, and I know this can happen when you add a bodyweight exercise routine to your training plan.
Enjoy the video and make sure to leave me comment below.
Thanks for all your support.
See ya at the next video!Jeff
Hey everyone, Jeff Salzenstein here and most of you probably know that the Australian Open Professional Players are some of the fittest, most athletic athletes in the world. I mean these guys can do just about anything. I mean just look at Rafael Nadal.
Quick story for you. Rafa, Montreal — no, excuse me — Toronto. I’m at the Canadian Open, I’m in the locker room and I see Rafa over there and he is just like, he’s like a cage animal like ready to go play his match. It was like he had like worked up his ladder, like getting ready to play, and I was just so impressed with his physicality. Just he intimidates people with his physicality.
So, what are you going to do? You’ve got to start training like the pros to get in great shape.
Now, maybe you can’t handle the volume or the intensity but you certainly can improve your conditioning by doing things like burpees or single-leg squats or double-leg squats for high reps, anything that you can do with your body weight to get stronger, more aligned, improve your balance. And if you focus on your conditioning by doing body weight exercises like burpees, that’s an example of an exercise you can do, or lots of sprints, you’re going to improve your conditioning.
So, take a look what these guys are doing and know that they are doing tons of off-court training. So hopefully you enjoyed this video and I will talk to you soon.
Thanks a lot.

Great. I was thinking about a medicine ball to increase my fitness level but I like the bodyweight idea better. That way I’ve always got the equipment I need with me. I like doing footwork drills and sprints, now I’m going to add the burpees and we’ll see what happens. Thanks Dude! I hope nobody in 55 and over singles is reading this.
